Murray Bridge Structure Plan

Project Info:

Holmes Dyer, together with the Rural City of Murray Bridge, prepared the Murray Bridge Structure Plan to help guide the future growth and development of Murray Bridge. As an identified growth region in South Australia, there is a need to identify what land, services and infrastructure will be required to support projected growth.

The Structure Plan forms part of a suite of documents informing Council’s ‘Future Cities’ Program, which is aimed at ensuring growth in Murray Bridge is appropriately managed and that necessary infrastructure to support such growth is available.

The Structure Plan provides direction on the desired mix and future development precincts of residential, retail, commercial, education, industrial and community land uses, and the accompanying infrastructure provisions. It includes a series of high-level plans which identifies where future land use precincts could be located, and details the investigations undertaken to determine priority levels and need for each land use.

The consultation process included facilitated workshops with Council’s staff, the nominated advisory group Strategic Planning & Development Policy Committee, and representative from the Ngarrindjeri Regional Authority.

The Murray Bridge Structure Plan will deliver the next level of planning detail beneath the overarching Murray Mallee Regional Plan and Greater Adelaide Regional Plan that are currently underway; and builds on the findings and forecasts of the Murray Bridge Community Infrastructure Model and the Residential Growth Areas Structure Plan Review.
