Holmes Dyer prepared a master plan to provide guidance for the future development of the Eastside Christian College at Warrane.
The master plan was informed by a process of engagement with key members of the school community and through a number of site inspections. The school has experienced rapid growth since its establishment and requires clarity about the location of additional floorspace, the linkages between key activities and the need to protect limited outdoor recreation space, recognising the limitations imposed upon the site by areas of steep land, significant vegetation and biodiversity protection areas.
The site is subject to a number of overlays, notably the Natural Asset Code (Biodiversity Protection Area), the Bushfire Prone Areas Code and the Landslide Code. While none of these overlays absolutely prohibit development, they do impose a series of principles and standards which need to be met through any future approval process. The master plan suitably addresses these matters.
