Holmes Dyer prepared a concept plan for the development of surplus land on the St Francis Flexible Learning Centre site at Allunga Road, Chigwell. The concept seeks to provide for the development of affordable and special needs housing, incorporating an aged care facility and a multi-unit dwelling providing for disadvantaged youth.
The concept has regard to the likely future needs and operation of the school, its direct access to playing fields and the extensive areas of unused land, which can provide for new affordable residential development which directly interfaces with the existing surrounding residential area.
The residential development will help to fund the continued operation of the school. The concept has underpinned a subsequent rezoning proposal for the site.
